David writes “State Lines,” a weekly poetry column in the San Francisco Chronicle. His own poems have appeared in dozens of journals and have earned fellowships from Stanford University, the University of North Carolina, and the Amy Lowell Trust. With his wife, poet Rachel Richardson, he co-founded Left Margin LIT, a home for the literary arts in Berkeley.
